Rebecca Gatward studied for a degree in Drama and English and an MA in Theatre Direction at the University of East Anglia. She is a graduate of the BBC Directors’ Academy. She has been working as a freelance television drama director since 2008 and as a theatre director since 1995.
Rebecca is expert at drawing performances from actors, has real visual flair in her storytelling and is energetic and fun to work with. She has directed Matt Damon and Casey Affleck in the theatre and has directed some of British television’s most exciting actors including Sarah Greene and Killian Scott in Dublin Murders, James Nesbitt and Hermione Norris in Cold Feet, and Dougie Henshall in Shetland.
